The auto import feature uses: (Accessibility services + MediaProjection services to capture screen content) Use the menu to show the contacts which have no photo, or those who already have a photo, even if a contact already has a photo she can be better on her profile WhatsApp :) Forty bucks and you can't minimize the window or sync all the data via a USB cable? No thank you. This quite simple application allows you to get back the photos of profiles of your WhatsApp contacts for use them as photo of profile on your phone. I can understand that the Android OS is hard to program for, but that is no excuse for a frustrating user experience and kludgey software. The Missing Sync for Android feels like overpriced, beta software. For syncing media, there is doubleTwist (Free, ), a free iTunes-like program that works very well. However, both of these options aren't completely necessary because there are free solutions that aren't quite simple, but often will work better than the Missing Sync. They are offer an Android-to-PC syncing experience for $39.95 as well, but we haven't reviewed their offering. In terms of all-in-one syncing competition, CompanionLink appears to be the only other company offering a product like this. Three Android apps? Really? If you're going to take the time to set this annoying software up, you might as well just save your money and use the other kludgey-but-free syncing methods out there. Since the app doesn't have a trial period, you can't check to see if it works with your phone before you buy it-a big issue with a $40 piece of software.Īnd the whole thing just feels like a kludge. Missing Sync for Android is frustrating to use. However, you can also just use Ringdroid for this purpose once you have music on your phone. The ringtone editor works well-just select a song from your library and clip the two sides for where you want the tone to start and end. The ability to create ringtones with a ringtone editor on the desktop is a nice addition. It can sync your SMS messages and your call log-both which can be helpful in some cases. The program does have some pluses over traditional PIM syncing software. There is no Sync All button on the desktop, but there is a button that initiates a sync inside the main Android app (but won't sync calendars or notes). To set the program up, you have to click through up to 10 different dialog boxes, one for each category of data. Sadly, there is no minimize button, so it just sits on your desktop until you quit. If you click the File or Help tabs, you get access to seven more buttons. ![]() The main screen has 11 buttons: Calendar, Contacts, Call Log, Notes, SMS Log, Sync Media, Create Ringtone, Preferences, Sync History, Shop, and Install Files. The program appears as one window with many buttons and tabs. The interface for the Missing Sync for Android PC program feels incomplete and difficult to use. Your PC needs to have a wireless connection, so this could be a real problem for the many people who use desktop computers. So, strike one: you can't just sync all your stuff over a cable. (Bluetooth sync requires Android 2.0 or later.) The dialog is simple enough, and two phones I tested paired quickly. ![]() You can then connect your PC and phone via a Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth connection, but not via a USB cable. When you first run the PC software, you are presented with a set-up dialog that tells you to download the three Android apps. Fliq Calendar only works with Android 2.0 and later. To download the Android apps, go to the Android Market and search for Missing Sync for Android, Fliq Calendar, and Fliq Notes. Running Missing Sync requires you to download three apps for your phone. We used the HTC EVO 4G ($299.99, ) and Motorola Droid X ($299.99, ) to test the program on the Android side. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.
